A welcoming first visit
New members should have an obvious place to start, readable guidance, and controls they can find without searching through hidden menus.
Secret Sauce was started by Tommytactical with a simple aim: make it easier for people to find a place to talk, and easier for anyone to build a community that feels like theirs.
The project began as a small prototype and grew into a public community platform. The public experience now centres on member-run servers, useful communication tools, and a dedicated Trust & Safety process.
New members should have an obvious place to start, readable guidance, and controls they can find without searching through hidden menus.
Server owners should be able to set up channels, roles, and permissions in plain language, then refine their space as it grows.
Reporting and moderation should be visible, reviewed by people, and paired with a path to appeal when a member needs a second look.
Secret Sauce is being developed as a practical set of tools that can grow with its communities. The work is focused on making the basics dependable before adding more layers.
Help new owners get a useful starting server, with channels and roles they can understand and change later.
Messages, profiles, notifications, and search should work together so members can keep up without fighting the interface.
Reports, moderation history, and appeals should give staff enough context to act while keeping member-facing steps clear.
Join the official Secret Sauce community, read the guidelines, and share the feature or community you hope to build here. Feedback helps us choose the next improvements.
